How to manage multiple projects in TimeStorm

Working with a large number of projects could become overwhelming and requires project organization for manageability. In TimeStorm, you can manage multiple projects very easily by following the below features.

  1. Working Sets
  2. Import global workspace Preferences
  3. Add Compiler/Linker Flags to multiple projects

1. Using Working Sets of projects within a single workspace

When there are a large number of projects that are all tangentially related, You separate them into Working Sets (sets of projects you can group together) which makes it easier to manage. With working sets, you can display or hide a set of projects. You can only open a working set of the projects that you're currently working on while keeping all other working sets (all other projects) closed which will improve the efficiency. Similarly, you can perform the operation like changing the project configurations for multiple projects via Working Sets very easily. For more information on How to Create and Manage Working Set Configurations, please follow the document https://linuxlink.timesys.com/docs/wiki/engineering/HOWTO_Create_And_Manage_Working_Set_Configuration_In_TimeStorm

2. Using Multiple Workspace - Import global workspace Preferences:

A workspace is a location on your machine where all the work you do through TimeStorm will be stored as files. It is easier to create one workspace and save it as default so that your application remembers your past work.

When there are a large number of projects that are completely independent from each other, you would create separate workspaces,- one workspace for each set of projects. While creating a separate workspace, you may need to use the old workspace Preferences. To set the workspace Preferences same as the old workspace may take a lot of time. Thankfully, in TimeStorm you can Import global workspace Preferences very easily. For more information on How to Import global workspace Preferences, please follow the document https://linuxlink.timesys.com/docs/wiki/engineering/HOWTO_Import_Global_Workspace_Preferences_Between_Workspaces

3. Add Compiler/Linker Flags to multiple projects:

Many cases, you may need to add the same Compiler/Linker Flags to a large number of projects. Adding a Compiler/Linker flag to each project at a time will take a long time. Thankfully, in TimeStorm you can add compiler/linker flags to many projects with just a few clicks. For more information on How to add Compiler/Linker flags to multiple projects, please follow the document https://linuxlink.timesys.com/docs/wiki/engineering/HOWTO_Add_Compiler_Linker_Flags_To_Multiple_Projects
