Accessing the Installation and Booting Guide for Your Software

The Installation and Booting (Getting Started) Guide includes instructions for booting your software on the reference target board, in addition to installation instructions.

To retrieve the installation instructions and release notes for your reference distribution:

  1. Log in to LinuxLink and select the Repository button.

  2. If you have more than one LinuxLink subscription, and they are for different processors, you can filter the software by selecting a processor from the drop-down menu on the left.

  3. On the Repository page, click the Distributions tab to access any reference distributions that are available for your processor.

  4. Click on the Reference Linux Distribution entry. Download the following distribution-specific documentation:

    • The release notes are located in the file release_notes.txt.
    • The Getting Started (or Installation and Booting) Guide is located in the PDF file named getting_started.pdf. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader, available at http://www.adobe.com/, to view this guide.

Note

You can also access these files in the /doc directory of the downloaded and extracted reference Linux distribution.
